There is a window between 5:10 and 5:50 where the mind is unspent. No meetings have been scheduled into it. No notifications have arrived to claim it.
I call it the blue hour, even though technically it is the hour before the blue hour. Names matter less than the practice.
The protocol is simple: one cup of water, one notebook, one question. The question must be written the night before, otherwise the morning will spend itself looking for one.
Do this for ninety days and you will have a different relationship with your work.
